Initial Announcement – June 10th
With no Springfest stats to analyze this year, I kinda assumed I wouldn’t be doing anything particularly interesting for Weiss this summer. Boy was I wrong!
For the 1st time ever, we’re getting a community organized, live streamed and commentated invitational tournament for English Weiss Schwarz – and I’m extremely excited to announce that I’m one of the 32 players who’ve been invited to participate!

All the other details about the tournament + the initial pairings for round 1 will be announced live on Twitch next Monday, June 15th, at 10 PM CEST (check here for other time zones) – make sure you don’t miss the announcement stream!
I won’t say too much about the other participants for now, but definitely be on the lookout for their own announcements in the coming days! However, I can say that the list is full of great players and amazing content creators, so this will most definitely be an event worth watching!
Personally, I’m really glad to be invited alongside my usual trios teammate Marko. It seems our biggest threat at locals is utterly unavoidable no matter where I end up playing 😀
Live Announcement Stream Recap – June 15th
It’s gonna be an open deck tournament, meaning that everyone’s lists are published in advance and we can reference them during our matches. You can check out the builds yourself on the tournament’s Encore Decks page!
The tournament style will be best of 3 with double elimination. That means that whoever wins 2 out of 3 matches against their opponent is the winner of that round, and the loser then falls down to the loser bracket. If they lose there again, they’re out of the tournament for good.
We’ve also gotten sponsorship from Nova TCG: the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers will receive 50$, 30$ and 20$ of store credit respectively. Make sure you check out the store for JP & EN Weiss Schwarz products and preorders!
